As the principal of the Canadian Trillinium School, I have over 35 years’ experience in education, at an internationally recognised university, and at schools in three countries, and it makes me very proud to be head of a team of dedicated and excellent teachers from many countries. It will be a great pleasure to welcome you, as part of the CTS family, to the 2022-2023 academic year.

We are proud to be one of only two schools in Dhaka that are fully accredited by the New Brunswick (Canada) curriculum that leads to the New Brunswick High School Diploma, which is respected and accepted by all international universities. Indeed, many of our past students are distinguishing themselves at some of the top universities in the world.

After more than a year of highly successful online classes, we are looking forward to being able to teach in physical school again, but in case that is not possible, we are working on strategies to make our online classes even more successful, and even more interesting for our students. We are delighted to be able to welcome back so many of our teachers, and we will be adding some new faces, from various countries, to the mix. Our aim is to recruit the best teachers available, so that we can serve our students even better.

We know that nothing benefits students more than individual attention, so we keep our classes small. Very few of our classes have more than ten students. This enables our teachers to get to know the students individually, to learn what their individual needs are, and to give them the help they need to fulfil their full potential. As teachers, we discuss our students’ progress on a weekly basis, and our parents receive regular reports reflecting their progress.

During the pandemic, we have taken the opportunity to renovate and upgrade our school’s facilities, as well as taking steps to ensure our students’ safety on the school campus. Apart from access control, we have a highly effective security system in place at the school, which enables us to monitor classes continually to make sure that safety and security protocols are strictly enforced and that our teachers are following the best possible educational practices. This security is also extended to our games and sports facilities.

At CTS, the well-being of our students is paramount, and both their academic and physical well-being receives the attention our students need to become healthy and well-rounded adults. We also cater for a variety of interests through our extra-curricular cultural and academic activities. As soon as it is safe to do so, we will also resume our well-known field trip programme.
